WHITE BUTTON UP AND SPARKLY SHOES
We had so much fun last week with my baby sister Cassidy in town! The boys loved all of the family time and I loved all the sister time. Here are some photos from our day getting lunch/letting the kids run/crawl wild at Pacific City. I threw on a "boyfriend" white button-up and another trusty pair of mom jeans. These jeans are actually my post-baby transition pants so they are a size too big but I love them so I wore them anyway. Button ups are the best way for me to feel put

MY ANDY WARHOL LOOK
This look was so easy, I don't know why I haven't worn it before. Wayne and I had a crazy day of running errands before he flew out of town that night and we only had 15 minutes to shower and get dressed so I knew I needed something simple. I love this because most people probably have some variation of this already in their closet and even though all these pieces are inexpensive, wearing them together, monochromatic and all, makes them look posh...or at least I think so. Wh

CAPE WEATHER
"Well, it is good cape weather: cool, breezy." For those ( maybe all) of you who didn't know that reference, it is from my all-time favorite show, Seinfeld. In this particular episode, Larry David plays George's father's attorney who mysteriously wears a cape. If you've never watched the show I suggest you immediately jump on hulu+ and give it try, I have seen every episode a bazillion times and have watched it to fall asleep almost every night since high school. Ok, done wit

SHOULD YOU WEAR MOM JEANS IF YOU'RE A MOM?
I love a good mom jean but I often ask myself, should I still be wearing mom jeans now that I am actually a mom? I realize some people are reading this and saying "no one should ever wear mom jeans!" And I see where you are coming from but I love them anyway and so let's just pretend for a minute that you do too. Sure, a mom jean can look chic on an Emily Ratajkowski or a Kendall Jenner but when all 5'4 of me is wearing them, in slides and holding a toddler, I must ask myself

BACK TO SCHOOL
And by back to school, I mean when I was in high school during the hay day of shows like Laguna Beach and The O.C. Going to school in Orange County meant denim minis were EVERYWHERE...except on me. I was too busy wishing it was the 70's in my peasant blouses and bell bottoms carrying around a biography of Jim Morrison. True Story. I dedicate this outfit to my younger self. VELVET PANTS AND BEATLE BOOTS
Wayne and I went shopping today for cooking utensils for the chef in our family, I'll give you a hint, it isn't me (but I'm working on that). We then got lunch at one of our favorite restaurants Din Tai Fung. The soup dumplings and spicy noodles rock my world. I wore my favorite winter pants, these burgundy Madewell velvet floods (on sale for $29!) and a cozy Topshop sweater from last year. My shoes are one of my favorite vintage finds from a small shop in Amsterdam. They are

BLUE JEAN BABY
Over the last couple years, I have accumulated a small collection of vintage Levi's. I love a good non-stretch pair of denim with a pragmatical attitude. I usually go simple when it comes to what I wear with mine. I feel like the Levi's label has come to be a statement accessory all it's own. I normally reach for a white/vintage T or a chunky sweater but they are easy to dress up with a glitzy shoe. Yes, I am certain these would look better on me if I were several inches tall

PHO-N AT THE BEACH
Wayne and I went for lunch at our favorite Vietnamese spot, Saigon Beach located on the Balboa Peninsula. They put a spin on some of the more traditional dishes. I usually get a banh mi sandwich that you can dip into a small bowl of pho broth, their version of a french dip. It's divine. They also have Pho puns written all over their walls so I thought I would honor them with my post title;) After we ate, we went for a quick very chilly walk on the beach. I love the beach in w

MUPPET CHIC
Went out with the baby boys, my mama and sister today. We grabbed lunch and got Wolfie his first pair of shoes! He is 11 1/2-months-old so I guess it is about time. Wayne left for the studio today so it was nice to spend the day out and about with people we love. Cheers to distractions. Pink sweater: Zara (similar and $12!)
