SMOKE+MIRRORS U.S. TOUR: LAKE TAHOE
The band was offered a gig mid-tour that was either private or a festival of some sort up in Lake Tahoe. To be honest, I'm not really sure what it was exactly but everyone jumped at the opportunity to spend a couple days out by the lake. One of the band member's family has a house up there and so we had been able to visit a couple times before and we completely fell in love with this place. I have only been there in the summer (I am no ski bunny) but man do I love being out o

WHITE BUTTON UP AND SPARKLY SHOES
We had so much fun last week with my baby sister Cassidy in town! The boys loved all of the family time and I loved all the sister time. Here are some photos from our day getting lunch/letting the kids run/crawl wild at Pacific City. I threw on a "boyfriend" white button-up and another trusty pair of mom jeans. These jeans are actually my post-baby transition pants so they are a size too big but I love them so I wore them anyway. Button ups are the best way for me to feel put

MY ANDY WARHOL LOOK
This look was so easy, I don't know why I haven't worn it before. Wayne and I had a crazy day of running errands before he flew out of town that night and we only had 15 minutes to shower and get dressed so I knew I needed something simple. I love this because most people probably have some variation of this already in their closet and even though all these pieces are inexpensive, wearing them together, monochromatic and all, makes them look posh...or at least I think so. Wh

MORNING FACES
Here is another throwback post of River's morning face (with his long hair!) I just don't want to forget one expression that he made at this age and for some reason morning faces are just the greatest. I really enjoy being a mom, more than I ever thought I would actually, but it isn't always rainbows. Even on my worst days, this curious little Moon River keeps me laughing. #goldengang #family #california #home

SUNSET
If my kids could live outdoors, they would. I'm guessing that is common with children, maybe the fresh air and constant possibility of stumbling upon an adventure fuels their tiny little bodies. Or possibly, for us, it's just that we gave our kids nature names ;) We are so fortunate to live close to the beach and as often as we can, we run outside to snag those last moments before the sun hits the water. Golden Hour (the hour or so after sunrise and the hour or so before suns

CAPE WEATHER
"Well, it is good cape weather: cool, breezy." For those ( maybe all) of you who didn't know that reference, it is from my all-time favorite show, Seinfeld. In this particular episode, Larry David plays George's father's attorney who mysteriously wears a cape. If you've never watched the show I suggest you immediately jump on hulu+ and give it try, I have seen every episode a bazillion times and have watched it to fall asleep almost every night since high school. Ok, done wit

SHOULD YOU WEAR MOM JEANS IF YOU'RE A MOM?
I love a good mom jean but I often ask myself, should I still be wearing mom jeans now that I am actually a mom? I realize some people are reading this and saying "no one should ever wear mom jeans!" And I see where you are coming from but I love them anyway and so let's just pretend for a minute that you do too. Sure, a mom jean can look chic on an Emily Ratajkowski or a Kendall Jenner but when all 5'4 of me is wearing them, in slides and holding a toddler, I must ask myself

THE TOLMANS ARE BACK
Our besties, Brittany and Andrew, just moved back to California! To celebrate, I am posting some photos from when they visited a couple months ago. We have been friends for over 10 years, not to mention they are responsible for Wayne and I meeting so we kind of owe them everything. I couldn't be happier to have them back. These two are as kind as they are talented and they are ridiculously talented. To check out their new music as a husband and wife duo click the link: TOLMA

BACK TO SCHOOL
And by back to school, I mean when I was in high school during the hay day of shows like Laguna Beach and The O.C. Going to school in Orange County meant denim minis were EVERYWHERE...except on me. I was too busy wishing it was the 70's in my peasant blouses and bell bottoms carrying around a biography of Jim Morrison. True Story. I dedicate this outfit to my younger self.
