DUBAI PART III: ATLANTIS WATER PARK

The first thing we did in Dubai was hit up the marine and water park at Atlantis The Palm. I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty reluctant. Waterparks are not usually my thing. Ok, they are never my thing. But when I heard this one was on a manmade island that's shaped like a palm tree (bird's eye view below), I was intrigued.

It turned out to be a really fun experience. Not only was it a water park but it was part aquarium which is right up my alley because in my heart I'm a wanna-be marine biologist. The first slide we went on was a clear tube where you could see fish and sharks swimming around. Wayne and the band did a shark walk, we all zip-lined and went on a crazy "taco ride" as we called it, where six of us were on a raft and it basically felt like at any given moment we would fly off as we shot up the side of a half pipe. We went on that twice. We had a delicious seafood feast and walked through the water to see the city views. If all water parks like this, maybe I would visit them more often.
